The Bollywood star, Kareena Kapoor was ecstatic when she was gifted with a ravishing hand-woven black and gold saree from the weavers of the undeveloped Chanderi village in Madhya Pradesh. Sally Conran is an art director and stylist whose passions involve interior design, lifestyle and last but not least- and you probably did not see this coming- food. For today, we made a selection of some of her works regarding interior arrangements. What is striking at first when looking at her projects is an overall feeling of peace, harmony and not to mention elegance. All the elements seem to feet perfectly in the light decors and looking at them seems to make their atmosphere contagious- it is almost like a change of state. Decorating elements such as candles, interesting wallpapers, unusual vases with flowers enhance this perception. The mix of mellow colours is also of great effect.

A couple of days after watching Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland (in 3D, no less), I feel like I’m still stuck in his quirky and visually imaginative world. Maybe I should get my Mad Hatter fix at Bakelab with this Tea Party Curio Box, that filled with a colourful array of delights. Start the tea party by lighting unbirthday candles, painting the cake roses red, grinning madly over a Cheshire Cat macaron, following a cookie’s directions, inquiring about the looks of a sugary blue mushroom, and going nuts over a green envelope.
