Yays Blog
| Some kind of Hello... Right then....I've been pondering the birth of this Blog for a few weeks now and even though the list of what I'll eventually be posting gets larger and larger I'm still unsure where to actually start with the sodding thing. My brain has officially stopped so screw it - I'll just dive in somewhere.I'm going to treat this page as an on-line scrapbook/ dumping ground. All my free downloads, music, MP3s, thoughts, news, bits of writing, random reviews, mixes, rants, poncy pretentious twaddle, artwork, photos, videos, Podcasts, smalltalk, random junk and interesting stuff I find on the floor will be going up on this page at some point.I figure it might be pretty useful for me to have all my crap in the same place. So there you go... Actually that wasn't such a bad introduction I guess. Yays!I don't know - I'm winging it from here on in.Let's go. Yay vs. Boo Someone offered me their seat on the subway this morning. Yay!The Americans beat the Canadians in the World Junior Hockey Championships last night. Boo.Today is Wednesday. Hump day. Yay!I have a slight pain in my ankle. Boo.I'm going to see Jersey Boys with my Dad tomorrow night. Yay!I have this sinking sensation that I'm going to forget the tickets. Major pregnancy brain. Boo.I'm enjoying a FREE Starbucks latte right now (courtesy of the Starbucks gift card I got for Christmas). Yay!And... since I can't think of any other negative things to dwell on... here are a few more yays to end the blog off with:I'm 33 weeks pregnant and everything is going along perfectly so far. Yay!My nephew Elliott is turning 1 on Friday. Yay!I only have 4 and a half more weeks of work until I'm off for maternity leave. Yay!Hope your day is filled with yay moments. Have a good one, peeps. In the Mood for Goldfinch Have I ever said that if I were to be crazy enough to start a second blog, that it would revolve around "What I ate.../like to eat..."? Well, if you didn't know, you do now and whilst I sadly don't have the inclination to start a secondary blog when maintaining one is still a challenge, it doesn't mean I'm going to deprive myself of veering off the fashion-course ONCE in a blue moon. The moon isn't blue at the moment. Actually, it's just invisible, which is slightly weirding me out.
Nevertheless, seeing as I recently posed a question on Twitter as to whether or not I should post a batch of food pics from Hong Kong on the blog, I got about ten 'Yays'... and I'm in full belief that Twitter peeps are ALWAYS right and good, so I'll just take that as concrete affirmation and go forth. If comments that consist of "Oh Susie, you're such a porker...!" pop up... then erm... well, they'd be right. I am one tentang Moving Day no.. not moving blog. i still dont have my own .com or anything. today ima move to a house where there is more civilization :P. we found a place in gawler (small town.. almost a 'koboi'town. one kinda busy main road and thats about it. hehe. well.. better than here where there is no town.oh how i long to live in a city again.okay so today we'll be singing the contract and all those papers and get the keys. yays! but i dont think we'll be moving lots of stuff today.. it's gonna be around 43C today and in that heat.. no thanks. and the new place doesnt have electricity yet till tomorrow.so after getting the keys, we'll take some boxes there. one trip thats all. come back home (current home) and sit in front of the air cond. omg this week is gonna be a crazy week. packing.. moving out.. settle down.. then mid next week we have a trip so we'll need to pack for that.. travel adelaide-kl and kl-penang.. then drive back to kl. kl-surabaya and surabaya-malang (thats a place in east java). afte Makeovers I've been in a bit of a bleh recently. Call it the arrival of winter with cold and mud and the need to be inside a lot more. Call it having a lot of work to do and not the energy or impetus to get started. Call it the arrival of the annual winter shoe dilemma - summer sandals so easy, winter shoes, well, I never find any that I like and actually want to wear. Anyhow, I decided that I needed a new look. A make-over. Something to lift me out of the blahs and into the yays! As I can't fit into any of the clothes that they sell here (being just ever so slightly larger than the microscopic size 8 (US 4) that all Bosnian women appear to be), a new look for my blog is the closest that I get to a new image. So, here we are, unveiling it now. Do you like it?I've also been busy hosting people who are new to Bosnia over the last week. They were surprised by the country, it wasn't anything like they thought it would be. I suspect they were expecting something from TV in the early 1990s; refugees, Blog World 2009 #Rehash: Beef and Corned Beef Damn, I love corned beef hash
I’m back from Blog World Expo 2009. Four days in Las Vegas is long enough to remind me of why I moved to Denver from Sin City in November of 2008. Seriously – why does this convention have to be in Las Vegas? I’ve got my beefs with my first-ever industry trade show, yet there is some applause to be shared as well.
To make things more palatable, I’ve dubbed my Yays (CORNED BEEF) and Nays (BEEF). Corned beef hash is, like, my favoritest food of all time. Breakfast, lunch, dinner – you name it, I’ll eat it. It’s my stranded on a desert island food of choice and you’ll have to pry it from my cold dead hands to take it off my menu. So let’s roll with the #rehash:
BEEF: Could have done without Guy Kawasaki’s low-hanging fruit “all Asians look alike/white guy slam” at the closing keynote. Really, Guy – give us some credit.
CORNED BEEF: Chris Brogan, Brian Clark, Jason Falls and Laura Another Typical Fail. Yays. Good god.So hi. Today, I've been determined to record my life with media. I made a vlog, but editing a video on my PC is just to hard. I'm sorry. Windows Movie Maker is terrible, and I don't want to spend $4935738295739 on a Macbook. So that sucked.Still craving for some blog/vlog action, I decided to start a personal blog. You may notice that I have a blog about hair, if I haven't already deleted it. Never mind that. Its called a hair straightner. So it begins.Hello. My name is Meg and I am from Australia. It is the beginnings of spring, and I am overjoyed! This would have been a fantastic Saturday if it weren't for my attempts to vlog. Grrr..It was so warm and things! Unfortunately I have to wake up at 5:30 or something tomorrow because I have to go to the State finals for this thing called Tournament of the Minds. Imagine brains sword fighting if you will, but its alledgedly a drama thing. I didn't think it would be this competition like. Like, I thought we would just put on a play an The Fearless Blog This blog challenges its readers to be courageous and attempts to inspire, motivate and celebrate life, its challenges, obstacles and joys.
